Hey guys! My name's Chase! I'm going into my senior year of a bachelor's in Computer Engineering. I am also currently pursuing a master's in electrical and computer engineering as a part of the integrated degree program. I've spent most of my time at the U either participating in student groups or assisting students with classes as a laboratory peer assistant. This summer I've been interning with Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) working as an ASIC Design Verification Engineer, all the while I've had the chance to build a great network with the team. Outside of work and school I'm usually interested in filming/editing shorts and going on trips with my friends! One of my favorite hobbies has been working on a self-constructed electric skateboard, following this I have had an absolute blast taking the same ideas for electric vehicles in general, and applying them to the University's Solar Vehicle Project (UMNSVP).
My hopes for this semester, of course, include connecting more students to businesses and other peers, but also enabling more communication through a wider variety of events encouraging greater participation! Personally, I hope to improve my work-life balance moving forward, and ensure all systems are going off without a hitch. This will be my second year as an IEEE Officer. I previously held the position of membership coordinator, and made it my main goal to encourage students that I worked with to find extracurricular organizations to get involved with. I also wanted to take advantage of my knowledge in microcontrollers and embedded firmware and create a technical event to facilitate that learning.
